My first Doberman came into my heart
and home in the summer of 1974, I have never
been without at least one Doberman since
that time. That first one, Clyde A Scope UD,
traveled with me to many horse shows and
rodeos as my companion and protector, as
well as earning multiple HITs and OTCH
points- and getting me hooked on the breed
for life!
My foundation bitch was purchased from Betty
Brockman James in 1979. Silent Sentry's
Renaissance CD WAC (AKC pointed) only
produced one litter of just two puppies, but
one of those puppies was my first Champion
(and first of many things) CH Renejade The
Jazz Singer CD ROM. Jesse won the DPCA Top
20 breed in 1984, an AOM at the National in
1984, was ranked as high as #3 Doberman and
had many wonderful wins, Specialty and All
Breed Bests. This was my "heart" dog, my
firstborn son, and I loved him beyond
reason.
Jesse sired only one litter, which was six
puppies, two became AKC Champions. One of
those was my true foundation bitch, CH Alpha
Omega's Tushima UD ROM. Covet produced two
ROMs (Am/Can CH Renejade All American Jazz
CDX ROM AG1 and CH Renejade Go For The Gold
CDX ROM) and two Top 20 obedience winners (OTCH
Renejade American Mystic UDX-1990 and Go For
The Gold, the first ROM to win- 1991), plus
another Top 20 obedience contender (Renejade
Swing On A Star CDX WAC), an Obedience Trial
Champion (Mystic), a Canadian OTCH (Can CH/OTCH
Renejade the Rainmaker UD WAC) and several
other performance titled kids from only
three litters.
In 1988, I imported a beautiful black dog
from England. He became the first Doberman
to finish an AKC Championship with natural
ears (and did so with three majors at just
over two years of age, mostly owner-handled)
This was CH Findjan's Outrage CD ROM. Jack
produced well for me in very limited use.
Several of his kids were in the Obedience
and Agility Top 20s, with many HITs and
lovely wins among them. He sired my first
Schutzhund Doberman, UDC CH Renejade Windsor
v Jazlin CDX WAC ScH3 ZTP CGC VCX, Robin was
also AKC pointed, but by then her uncropped
ears held her back so I stopped showing her.
It was an injustice to have her beaten by
some truly dreadful bitches. Most of Jack's
kids so far have lived long, healthy lives
(Jack lived to almost 12) with several
living past the age of fifteen, including
Robin.
With my Dobermans, I have competed and
titled in many areas of performance- AKC
obedience up to the UD and OTCH points,
agility and Schutzhund. In
addition, Dobermans of my breeding have been
successfully titled and competitive in
tracking, flyball, agility, AKC obedience,
dancing and Schutzhund. I have been
extremely proud of the Renejade dogs who
have certified and been used in SAR.
All total, I have bred 14 litters (8 whelped
in my home, 6 co-bred) a total of less than
75 puppies.
In 1999, I imported a black male from
Germany who became Querinius vom Lindenhof
ScH3 ZTP WAC CGC, better known as Cynic. We
were getting ready to compete in rally and
agility at the time of his death from cancer
in June of 2005. Cynic was not even six
years old and I still miss him. He sired one litter that have made their owners very happy, including the Top 20 Agility competitor (#15 for 2011), Elphame's Faery Queen.
My first brown, was a bitch imported from
Germany in 2002, UKC/UDC/Int'l. CH Come As
You Are Inelya Renejade WAC CD RA CGC
CHIC#23056. Nell (aka the Evil Brown One)
was an extrodinary bitch; I may never again
be fortunate enough to experience her
working drives and intelligence. She
produced one litter, all the puppies are
"scary smart" and have various titles as
well as being great companions. Sadly, Nell
also had cancer and did not make it to her
sixth birthday.
Currently, I only have one dog, Nell's son,
AKC/UKC CH Renejade Fast Fletcher WAC.
Fletcher is a fun dog, an affectionate and
very amusing companion; yet still a staunch
guardian of myself and our property. We plan
to persue the performance title(s) to
complete his ROM in the future.
My goals in breeding have been to improve
the breed overall, focusing on temperament,
soundness and health. One of my favorite
complements was from a handler who said
"your dogs may not all look alike, but
they all out move anything out there".
In additional exploits, I was approved by
the February 2006 AKC Board to judge
Dobermans. As a result, it has been a
privelege to be invited to some wonderful
assignments including the DPCA National
Specialty, The Pre-National of Argentina and
the Top 20 in Argentina, as well as across
the United States. Along with AKC judging, I
am also approved to judge conformation,
temperament tests and the breed survey for
the UDC (United Doberman Club) and
conformation and Junior Showmanship for ASCA
(Australian Shepherd Club of America)
From October 2006 to March 2010, I served on
the DPCA Board of Directors and still serve
the judges and breeders education
committees, staying active in DPCA business.
